Hal itu ia sampaikan dalam pidatonya di Pertemuan Tahunan Bank Indonesia (PTBI), Jumat (28/11). Ia juga menayangkan video kondisi anak-anak yang setiap hari harus menyeberangi sungai tanpa jembatan layak.
Prabowo mengatakan bahwa meski angka pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia menunjukkan tren positif, masih banyak rakyat, terutama anak-anak, yang menghadapi kesulitan mendasar untuk bisa mengenyam pendidikan.
“Angka-angka pertumbuhan sangat bagus, tapi rakyat kita tiap hari, anak-anak kita tiap hari masuk sungai basah, duduk di kelas basah, pulang kembali basah,” kata Prabowo.
Ia menegaskan, suara dari lapangan inilah yang mendorong dirinya mengambil langkah cepat dan luar biasa.
“Anak-anak kita teriak, kita harus jawab,” tegasnya.
Dalam forum itu, Prabowo mengumumkan pembentukan Satgas Darurat Jembatan Sungai, sebuah langkah masif yang akan melibatkan berbagai unsur mulai dari universitas, seluruh Batalyon Zeni TNI, kompi-kompi konstruksi dan satuan teritorial, dan unsur Polri yang terkait pembangunan fasilitas umum
Prabowo memerintahkan agar seluruh elemen ini terjun langsung ke desa-desa untuk merancang dan membangun jembatan penyeberangan bagi masyarakat.
