Puncak peringatan Dies Natalis Unhas ke 64 di kabupaten Wajo berlangsung di Ruang Pola Kantor Bupati Wajo, Sabtu (24/10/2020).
Dengan protokol kesehatan yang sangat ketat ratusan Civitas Akademika "Kampus Merah" Unhas membaur dengan Forkopimda kabupaten Wajo, Kepala OPD dan sejumlah undangan lainnya.
Bupati Wajo, H. Amran Mahmud dalam sambutannya berharap Unhas menjadi pioner dalam mewujudkan mimpi besar pemerintah kabupaten Wajo.
"Visi besar kami adalah mewujudkan Pemerintahan Amanah, Maju, Mandiri dan Sejahtera. Saya berharap Unhas mampu menjadi pioner dalam mewujudkan mimpi-mimpi kami melalui riset dan penelitian, " ujarnya.
Sejumlah mimpi besar kami yang butuh sentuhan ilmiah dari Unhas adalah industri sutera dan menjadikan Danau Tempe menjadi kawasan wisata.
Sementara itu, Rektor Unhas Dwi Ariestina Pulubuhu saat memberi sambutan mengajak perguruan tinggi yang ada di kabupaten Wajo untuk bersama-sama dengan Unhas untuk mewujudkan daerah ini menjadi daerah dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi tertinggi berbasis ilmu pengetahuan.
Terkait harapan Bupati Wajo, Unhas akan selalu membuka diri. Apalagi Unhas dengan Wajo memiliki hubungan emosional yang kuat. Dua Rekor Unhas sebelunya adalah putera terbaik Wajo.
"Unhas merasa bertanggung jawab terhadap kemajuan pembangunan di daerah ini, " ujarnya.
